History
Early life
Mika Horiuchi was born on April 22, 1986 in Seattle, Washington.
At 9 years old, Mika learned to play guitar. He started playing the guitar and the trumpet and took part in classical music and jazz bands.[4] As a teenager, Mika learned to play bass, forming his first band in 2001, at age 16.
Cellador (2007–2009)
Mika joined the band Cellador in early 2007. His first show with the group was in his hometown, Nebraska, alongside the band Unearth. In April, the band was called to join the tour of the band All That Remains headlining tour, after that Mika became the permanent bass guitarist. Mika left the band in mid-2009, for no apparent reason and was replaced by James Pickett in 2011
Starstruck for Stereo (2010–2012)
Mika started an acoustic, pop, alternative rock, indie rock, and experimental rock solo career, known as Starstruck for Stereo. Mika released a demo on his MySpace page on January 22, 2011 called 'LOVE-U',[5] in this project, Mika sings and plays guitar, bass guitar, percussion, piano and more. Mika had released a few songs for SFS throughout 2010 and 2011, when being questioned by fans through his Facebook page if he was going to continue with it, he said no quoting "...starstruck for stereo is just a time killer..." [6]
On the 13th November, Mika posted lyrics for an upcoming 'Starstruck for Stereo' song, showing that he's continuing to do 'SFS' [7]
Falling in Reverse (2011–2012)
In place of the founder and bass guitarist, Nason Schoeffler, Mika joined the band Falling in Reverse, in late April 2011. Nason left the band due to prioritize his project, Me Myself Alive, where he is a bass guitarist shortly after the band released their debut album, The Drug In Me Is You, which was released on July 26. Mika appears as a bass guitarist in the credits, but did not compose and participated in the study, but did participate in video clips and appear in the music videos.,[8] the band was on tour, with this confirmed their integration into the Warped Tour annually.[9] In January 2012, the band announced Mika Horiuchi's departure from the band, Falling In Reverse's front man Ronnie Radke gave Altpress.com this exclusive statement regarding Horiuchi's departure from the band "Mika is not in the band and that’s it. Nothing more to say right now but stay tuned kids, 2012 is our year."[10][11][12][13]
Rob the Cartel (2012)
During late 2012, Ahmad Alkurabi's (A Smile from the Trenches member) was searching for a new bassist for his band 'Rob the Cartel', a few days later Rob the Cartels Facebook had posted many updates about Mika stating that he was in the band. Currently the band are doing tours and have plans to release a new EP.[14] On the 22nd October, Ahmad announced that Rob the Cartel had disbanded[15] due to Stason, Andrew, Mika, and Tommy leaving to do their band NOISE. Despite this Ahmad decided to recruit members for RTC again, One of whom was former Black Veil Brides guitarist Chris 'Hollywood' Bluser.
NOISE (2012-2013) Deadbeat Diary (2013-present)
On the 22nd October, RTC had split leaving all the members, but Ahmad, to form a band called 'NOISE'.[16][17][18] The band are planning to release a debut album soon, whilst also releasing their first single when they reach over 2,000 likes on Facebook.[19] The band released a studio teaser for their song 'My Sanity' on the 27th November. The band released a second single called "One You Plus Three Who's Your Lover", on the 25th January 2013.[20] The band have plans to reside in New York.[21]
As of mid-2013, NOISE was supposedly disbanded when all the websites for the band were deleted, including the Facebook page. Mika had later joined Deadbeat Diary alongside, Joel Faviere (former Get Scared) and Stephen Krypel.[22] They released 2 singles in 2013 titled "Born To Hate You" and "Hell To Pay" which was produced by Joel himself. The band later disbanded and "Born To Hate You" ended up being the last song on Joel Faviere's latest release "Dark Days" [23]
