Mille Plateaux is an influential German electronica record label. They are known for mostly releasing Minimal Techno, Glitch Music and other experimental electronic music genre artists.

Some artist released on the label: Alec Empire, Kid 606, Akufen, Thomas Koener, Donnacha Costello, SND, Terre Thaemlitz, Porter Ricks, Ultra-red, Beequeen, Cristian Vogel, Oval and Microstoria.

In 2000, to take advantage of the glitch music popularity in the electronic music scene, Mille Plateaux released their Clicks & Cuts Series, which showed both Mille Plateaux and non-Mille Plateaux glitch music luminaries exploring the genre.

In early 2004, Mille Plateaux parent company Force Inc. Music Works went bankrupt due to the collapse of Germany's main independent music distributor, EFA-Medien. Mille Plateaux and other Force Inc. Music Works associated labels were folded at that time. The label was revived briefly in late 2004 under the name MillePlateauxMedia, and then returned to the original name in 2006, as part of the newly formed Disco Inc. Ltd. label family (also featuring the return of the imprints Force Inc. and Force Tracks).

In March 2008, Mille Plateaux was acquired by TOTAL RECALL, a global online store and distributor for used and new music. Under the supervision of Mille Plateaux founder Achim Szepanski (A&R) and original team member Rai Streubel (B2B), they are closing the gap torn by the bankruptcy from 2004 and continuing the original work.

The expression Mille Plateaux comes from a philosophy book by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari.
