Mohammad Umar Hayat (born 22 September 1996) also known as Omer Rao,[2][3] is a Pakistani professional footballer who plays as a right-back for WAPDA which he captains, and the Pakistan national team.

Club career

Lyallpur

Hayat started his career with Lyallpur. He made 4 appearances in the 2014 PFF League.[4]

WAPDA

By the end of 2014, Hayat joined Pakistan Premier League departmental side WAPDA.[4] He captained the team winning the 2023–24 PFF National Challenge Cup, where he was declared most valuable player of the competition.[5][6]

International career

Hayat represented Pakistan at the youth level.[7] Hayat was included in the Pakistan under 23 squad for the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta. He went on to make three appearances in the campaign.[4]

He was subsequently named to the nation's 20-man squad for the 2018 SAFF Championship.[8] He made his senior international debut on 4 September 2018 in the team's opening match of the tournament, a 2–1 victory over Nepal.[2] The following year he was then named to Pakistan's squad for 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Cambodia, earning praise from local media for his performance at right-back.
