Mojave High School, opened in 1997. After a year of sharing a campus at Cheyenne High School on a "double session" schedule where Cheyenne students attended from 6 am to 12 pm and Mojave students attended 1 pm to 7 pm (while Mojave was under construction), the inaugural class, class of 2000, were the only class to not have an upper-class. The school began with only the Freshman class, who became the first graduating class in 2000. It is a nine-month public High School that is part of Clark County School District located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. As of late 2011, It is proclaimed to be one of the low-active schools by having at least 1,000 students removed to other schools since 2010 due to bullying and violence, dropouts and vandalism. The graduation rate is relatively low.

Athletics

Mojave High School offers many different athletic teams including football, baseball, soccer, swimming, tennis, golf, cross-country, wrestling, basketball, bowling, cheerleading, dance, and volleyball. They compete in the Sunset 4A Region of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association.

Football

The 2007 football season was one of the best in Mojave Athletics history. Head Coach Tyrone Armstrong drove the varsity football team to an 8-3 season defeating rivals ranging from the Aggies to the Spartans. As of 2012 Mojave High School's best football season is proclaimed to be the 2012 season. The Mojave Rattlers made it to the third round of the football playoffs, led by Head Coach Joe Delagodo.

Boys Volleyball

In the past 2 season of Boys volleyball the program has been a failure, with a previous record of 1-31 for the last 2 seasons the Rattlers made local headlines and turned heads when they made it to the 2013 state finals. The boys entered the 2013 season as the underdogs. With a new head Coach, Erik Davis, the team quickly rose to the top of the ladder. Being the only team undefeated in the Sunset Division 1A the boys took home the title of 'The Sunset Division 1A Champions.' This was the first title boys volleyball have obtained in over 8 years. Quickly following the league play The Rattlers entered the 2013 Playoffs. On May 13, 2013 the Rattlers defeated Sunrise Mountain HS in the quarter-finals which secured their spot in the semi-finals. The win gained the boys local news headlines in the 'Las Vegas Review Journal' Following the defeat of Sunrise the boys moved on to face Chaparral High School. Once again the Rattlers made the win look easy. Chaparral was defeated in just 3 sets. The Rattlers were going to the State Finals. With all the success the tension built up. The boys fell short against SECTA high school in the finals. Yet they did not win the state championship title. The Rattlers are still publicly proclaimed one of the best high school volleyball teams in the state of Nevada. They made a turn-a-round and inspired many athletes not only in Las Vegas but all of the west coast. Their story is traveling fast in the volleyball world and has gained national attention from College Athletes such as Ben Patch and Chris Austin. Below you can see the 2013 Roster.
