Montevallo is an unincorporated community in Vernon County, Missouri, United States.[1]

History

Montevallo was platted in the 1850s.[2] Montevallo is derived from Spanish words for "hill" and "valley".[3] A post office was established at Montevallo in 1858, and remained in operation until being discontinued in 1968.[4] The community was badly damaged in the Civil War.[5]
