Motivate Publishing is a company based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The company was established in 1979 by Ian Fairservice with the launch of What's On, the first English language magazine in the Persian Gulf region. Besides a wide range of magazines, the company publishes books on topics related to the heritage of the Persian Gulf, as well as travel and city guides and children's titles. It also operates a cinema advertising company, Motivate Val Morgan and co-stages the annual Dubai Lynx International Advertising Festival and awards, in a joint venture with the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Since 1982 Motivate Publishing has been operated in a partnership between Ian Fairservice and Obaid Humaid Al Tayer who is currently the UAE Minister of State for Finance.

  • Emirates Man, bi-monthly magazine. Launched in 2014, edited by Mark Evans.
  • Gulf Business, business magazine. Launched in 1996.
  • Open Skies, in-flight magazine for Emirates Airlines. Two editions: English & Arabic. The English magazine won the Cover of the Year award as voted for by readers of Coverjunkie, beating some of the world's leading titles, including TIME, Esquire, The New Yorker, Vogue, Sports Illustrated and The New York Times Magazine. Editorial by Group Editor Mark Evans, and Editor Andrew Nagy.
