Nanjil Sampath is a politician belonging to the party AIADMK. He left the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) party in 2012 to join the AIADMK.[1] He was the deputy propaganda secretary of the party since he joined. He was relieved from the post on January 2nd 2016. [2]

Born to Baskaran and Gomathi in Maniakavilai, Kanyakumari, Sampath is known commonly as "Nanjil Sampath" - the prefix Nanjil denoting his home district Kanyakumari. He completed his schooling from St. Mary Goretty School, Manakkarai and his M.A and MPhil degrees from the South Travancore Hindu College, Nagercoil. He is married to Sasikala and has two children - a daughter Mathivadhani and a son Sarath Baskaran.
