The Church of the Intercession on the Nerl

The Nerl River (‹See Tfd›Russian: Нерль) is a river in the Yaroslavl, Ivanovo, and Vladimir Oblasts in Russia, a left tributary of the Klyazma River (Volga's basin). The length of the river is 284 km (176 mi). The area of its basin is 6,780 km2 (2,620 sq mi). The Nerl River freezes up in November - December and stays under the ice until April. Its main tributary is the Ukhtoma River.
