Career

In the 2010 Asian Games, Ng won the Gold Medal as a member of the women's six-red team and a Bronze Medal in the singles competition.[1][2]

On 15 December 2010, Ng successfully defended her IBSF World Snooker Championship title in Syria by defeating compatriot Jaique Ip in the final by 5 frames to 0.[3]

On 6 October 2013, Ng won the IBSF World 6 Reds Snooker Championship at Carlow, Ireland.

In April 2015, she beat England's Reanne Evans 4-2 in the semi-final and another home hope, Emma Bonney, 6-2 in the final at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds, England, to become the first new world ladies' champion in a decade.[4]

On 11 August 2015, Ng beat India's Vidya Pillai 5-2 in the final at the Movenpick Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan, to claim her second World 6 Reds (women) title.

Ng went on to regain the world women's snooker title in 2017 and defended it successfully in 2018 without conceding a frame.[5]

She entered Q School in May 2018 in an attempt to win a place on the professional snooker tour.[6]

Personal life

Ng grew up in Hong Kong's then working-class district Sham Shui Po and began her snooker education in her father's snooker hall at age 13. She left school at 17 to concentrate on her cue skills but returned to college for two years to pick up an Advanced Diploma in Accounting in 2015.[7][8]
