Plot

Ananda Rao and Sundaram (both N. T. Rama Rao) are identical twins. Ananda Rao is a hardcore criminal, drunkard, and womanizer. He implicates Sundaram in a bank robbery case and the court has sentenced him to 7 years jail. One night Sundaram escapes from jail reaches his house and tells his brother that he is innocent. Ananda Rao calls Police, Sundaram tries to escape, in the quarrel Anand Rao dies of heart attack, Sundaram puts on the clothes of his brother and acts like Ananda Rao. Since then Sundaram has to face a lot of problems, protecting himself from his brother’s gang men and its leader Gangadharam (Satyanarayana); the second problem is Kamala (Savitri), daughter of Ramesam (Mikkileni), who is engaged to Ananda Rao and the third problem comes as Lakshmi (Anjali Devi), abandoned wife of Ananda Rao, who arrives with the child and with no other choice, he has to keep her as maid in the house. Meanwhile, Kamala comes to know that her father is blackmailed by an unknown person, she finds out that it is Ananda Rao and she threatens Sundaram; makes him agree to the marriage. Even after the marriage, the anonymous letters to Ramesam did not stop, which were written by Gangadharam, which leads to his death. In anger, Kamala meets with an accident where she is paralyzed and also loses her voice. Sundaram reveals the entire truth to Kamala and Lakshmi with all proofs. Meanwhile, a servant Naganna (Mukkamala) father of Lakshmi, who wants to take revenge against Ananda Rao, poisons Kamala. Lakshmi tries to stop him in that quarrel, Naganna kills his own daughter and implicates Sundaram in that case. At the same time, Sundaram catches all the gangsters responsible for the bank robbery. When the case is running in the court, Kamala slowly regains her health and gets back her voice. Finally, she proves her husband as Sundaram and that the real culprits are Gangadharam & Naganna and the movie ends with the court acquitting Sundaram as innocent.
