Nungshi Keithel (English: Romantic Market) is a 2021 Manipuri film directed by Mangal Chabungbam and produced by Sunil Thokchom under the banner of Ngangkhaleima Pictures.[1][2] It stars Silheiba Ningthoujam and Biju Ningombam in the lead roles.[3][4] The movie was released at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Compound on 26 December 2021.[5] The film is an adaptation of Ranjit Ningthouja's famous Shumang leela Maogi Ebai. It was also screened at the Sangai Film Festival 2022, which was organised as a part of the Manipur Sangai Festival.[6][7][8][9]
Synopsis
[edit]The film sketches the love story of Leishemba Meitei and Rengamla Keishing that transcends religious, cultural, ethnic and geographical diversities.

Soundtrack
[edit]Tony Aheibam composed the soundtrack for the film and Mangal Chabungbam wrote the lyrics. The song is titled Poklubana.[10] The lyrics translation for the Tangkhul part was done by Guru Rewben Mashangva.[11]
