Oasis Academy MediaCityUK is an academy in Salford Quays, Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The school has moved into a new building as of 2012.
History
The Academy has its origins in Hope Hall School which was located on Prestwood Road in the Pendleton area of Salford. It was more recently renamed Hope High School before it reopened as Oasis Academy MediaCityUK in September 2008.
Teachers at the school staged industrial action in November 2011 over planned redundancies.[2] This also led to disruptive behaviour by pupils.[3]
In September 2012, the Academy moved to a new site at Salford Quays.
In July 2014, the school was placed in special measures due to poor standards of teaching, bullying and weak leadership.[4]
Results
In 2011 Oasis Academy MediaCityUK, announced a 20% pass rate of pupils gaining 5 A* – C grades including English & maths. Along with this all pupils achieved at least 5 A*- C with 1% of these gaining 5 or more A* – A grades.[5]
