Opuntia cochenillifera is a species of cactus in the subfamily Opuntioideae. It is endemic to Mexico. The first description was in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus as Cactus cochenillifer. Philip Miller described it as Opuntia cochenillifera in 1768.
