Padmaram is a Gram panchayat in Kondurg mandal of Mahbubnagar district, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Padmaram is about 7 km. from Kondurg and about 42 km distance from Mahbubnagar.[1]
Features
- Padmaram has been a Gram panchayat since 1956. The first Sarpanch was V. Ramulu up to 1972. He is followed by Subhan Reddy (1972–1988), Balayya (1988–1992), N. Narayana Reddy (1992–1996), E. Lakshmayya (1996–2001), Mangamma (2001–2005) and N. Narayana Reddy (2006–11)
- There are four villages in Padmaram panchayat. They are : Elakagudem, Lakshimidevipalli, Ramji Thanda and Boyiguda Thanda.
- There are Eedamma gudi, Mysamma gudi, Anjaneya temple and Shivalayam in the village.
- There are about 4 reservoirs: Eerappa cheruvu, Nagireddi Cheruvu, Chintalakunta cheruvu and Errakunta cheruvu.
- There are 3 Upper Primary Schools in Padmaram, Elakagudem and Lakshmidevipalli.
Economy
In Pdmaram Panchayath agriculture is the main source of income. Main crops are cotton, corn, dal, gram, vegetables and paddy.
Yelkagudem is famous for paddy, milk, cotton while Lakshmidev palli is famous for paddy and vegetables, Padmaram is famous for cotton and dry crops.
Education
Padmaram panchayath possesses a low literacy rate. It hardly has 10 graduates. There is only one candidate completed his LLM from Osmania University. But Yelka gudem has produced a good number of engineers and graduates some people are even working in abroad in places such as the USA and Singapore. But lakshmi devipalli yet to open its account to produce graduates.
Religion
Padmaram mainly has Hindu and Muslims.
