History
The company was founded as Ameripay Payroll Ltd. by Steve Sarowitz in 1997.[1] It was renamed Paylocity in December 2005.[1][2] As the company grew, it relocated from Franklin Park, Illinois to Elk Grove Village, and to its current location in Arlington Heights. The company has leased 309,000 square feet of office space in the current headquarters of Zurich Insurance North America in Schaumburg, Illinois. The move will be complete in 2019.[3]
It was one of the 5,000 fastest growing private companies according to Inc. Magazine in 2003, 2004, and from 2007 to 2014.[4] The company was also included in the Deloitte Fast 500 as one of the fastest growing technology companies in 2013,[5] 2014,[6] and 2015.[7]
Paylocity successfully executed an initial public offering (IPO) in March 2014, raising over $82 million.
