Peter Salmon Collecott, CMG, was the British Ambassador to Brazil from 2004 to 2008.

He is a member of ADRg Ambassadors.

Biography

Career

  • Entered Diplomatic Service in 1977.
  • Studied Arabic before a posting as First Secretary in Khartoum in 1980.
  • First Secretary (Economic/Commercial) Canberra 1982.
  • Head, Iran/Iraq Section, FCO 1986.
  • Assistant Head, European Community Department (External), FCO 1988.
  • Counsellor later Deputy Head of Mission Jakarta 1989.
  • Counsellor (EU and Economic) Bonn 1994.
  • Director Resources, FCO 1999.
  • Chief Clerk, later Director General Corporate Affairs, 2001.
  • British Ambassador to Brazil from August 2004 until November 2008.[2]
