From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At the end of two years, Pharaoh is troubled by dreams that no one is able to interpret. The chief cupbearer remembers Joseph and at his suggestion, Joseph is brought from prison to interpret the king's dreams. Joseph predicts seven years of plenty to be followed by seven years of famine and advises the Pharaoh to appoint someone to store up surplus grain. Pharaoh is pleased with Joseph's interpretation and advice, and gives him authority over all the land of Egypt. At age 30, Joseph marries Asenath, the daughter of Poti-pherah, the priest of On, by whom he has two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
