  • curprev 18:3318:33, 5 October 2024 Holderbp talk contribs 20,607 bytes +365 Discovery: Since 2004 (20 February 2004 edit by Revolver) this has appeared as an argument using "differentials". In modern language "differential" has a different meaning (involving the derivative itself). The argument by Leibniz was based on the concept of "infinitesimals", the difference between "initial" and "final" states over some infinitesimal change. Edited text to make this more clear. Also added citation to page of Child's translation where the argument appears verbatim. undo
