Ameghino, 1904

Protamandua is an extinct genus of anteaters. Its closest living relatives are the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla) and tamanduas (genus Tamandua).[1] It may be have been a common ancestor of Myrmecophaga and Tamandua.[2]
