Pteridoideae is one of the five subfamilies of the Pteridaceae family of ferns. This subfamily contains about 14 genera^[1] and around 400 species.^[2] The following diagram, shows a likely phylogenic relationship between Pteridoideae and the other the Pteridaceae subfamilies.^[3]
