Robert Norval Garrett was the first head football coach for the Southeastern Louisiana University Lions located in Hammond, Louisiana and he held that position for the 1930 season. His coaching record at Southeastern Louisiana was 2 wins, 4 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him 14th at Southeastern Louisiana in total wins and 11th at Southeastern Louisiana in winning percentage (.333).[1][2] He died at a Hammond, Louisiana hospital in 1973.[3]
