Rathnappa Madhesh (also known as R. Madhesh) is an Indian-born Tamil film director mainly known for Vijay Starrer "Madhurey". He was responsible for directing Vijayakanth's 150th film, Arasangam, in 2008.[1]

Career

He entered the industry along with director Shankar and working with him since his first film 'Gentleman'. While working on films like 'Gentleman', 'Kadhalan'. 'Indian' and 'Jeans', He was exposed to production and direction, which had helped him establish himself as a successful producer. He not only co-produced 'Mudhalvan' starring Arjun but also co-directed the movie along with Shankar.

His experience while working in 'Jeans' (directed by Shankar) helped him venture into production with courage. He also got the opportunity to tour many countries to choose the locations for 'Jeans'. His involvement in the area of film production enabled him to learn the difficulties a producer faced.

Madhesh, who had distributed many movies including successful ones like 'Thulluvatho Illamai' till the Ajith-starrer 'Villain'.[2]

He produced Prashanth's Chocolate under his banner 'Movie Magic'. He directed Vijay's Madurey which was a blockbuster and Arasangam which was 150th film of Vijayakanth. Then he did a film titled 'Mirratal' again it was a super hit. Because of his strong script and technical knowledge, he was roped in the Rajinikanth starer film 'Kochadayaan' which is one of its kind film.

In 2016 january his Marathi film 'Friends' released all over Maharashtra and pan India became a super hit.. and all the press and critics praised the film and became a Box office super hit. Maharashtra Times and Sakkal gave the film 3.5/5 star and few marathi papers gave the film 4/5 stars.

In late 2005, he worked on the pre-production of a film titled Sarkar with Madhavan in the lead role.[3][4]
