In politics, a red–red–green coalition or red–green–red coalition is an alliance of two "red" social democratic, democratic socialist or communist parties with one "green" environmentalist party.

Germany

In Germany, many SPD politicians are averse to cooperation with The Left. However, a red-red-green coalition of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), Alliance '90/The Greens and The Left formed following 2014 state elections in Thuringia. The first such coalition under SPD leadership was formed after 2016 elections in Berlin.
