Red emperor may refer to:

  • Red Emperor or Red Deity (赤帝 Chìdì), one of the cosmological Wǔfāng Shàngdì (五方上帝), gods of Chinese religion. The Red Emperor is the god of southern Chinese, associated to the directional south, fire, summer and the planet Mars.
  • Mao Zedong was also known as the "Red Emperor" due to his Communist and often violent rule,[1][2] juxtaposed to the benevolent founding figure of the Yellow Emperor
