Rhys Patchell (born 17 May 1993) is a Wales international rugby union player. A fly-half, he plays club rugby for Cardiff Blues regional team having previously played for Cardiff RFC. He will be moving to Scarlets regional team for the 2016-17 season.

Educated at Ysgol Gymraeg Melin Gruffydd and at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, in January 2013 he was selected for the Wales Under 20 squad for the 2013 Under 20 Six Nations Championship.[1]

In May 2013 he was selected for the Wales national rugby union team squad for the summer 2013 tour to Japan. He made his international debut against Japan on 8 June 2013[2]

Patchell speaks Welsh,[3] and is an ambassador for the government-supported "Tafwyl" Welsh-language festival.[4]
