Roller speed skating at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics will be held from 7 to 8 October. The competition will take place at the Paseo de la Costa in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This marks the debut of the sport at the Youth Olympics.

Qualification

Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter a maximum of 2 competitors, 1 per each gender. As hosts, Argentina was given 2 quotas, 1 per each gender should they not qualify normally. Furthermore, 2 competitors, 1 per gender was to be decided by the tripartite committee, however none were given. The remaining places were decided at the 2018 Roller Speed Skating World Championship, with each continent guaranteed a spot at the games provided that they competed. There were no competitors from Africa[1]

To be eligible to participate at the Youth Olympics athletes must have been born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2003.[1]
