Pankkad Sayyid Hyderali Shihab AlHussainy Pookoya Thangal is the Kerala State president of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).[1]. He is also the Vice President of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama.[citation needed]

He is the third son of PMSA Pookkoya Thangal. Hyderali Shihab Thangal is the younger brother of Late Sayyid Mohammedali Shihab Thangal and the late Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal.[citation needed]

He has been elected as Qadi (judge) in Islamic mahals in Kerala due to the death of his elder brother Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal. He has been elected as the successor to Sayyid Mohammedali Shihab Thangal as the President of the IUML.[2] He is also president of Darul Huda Islamic University, Rahmaniyya Arabic College Katameri, Nandi Darussalam and many other institutions in kerala.
