Scarlett Middle School is a middle school located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Their mascot is the Roadrunner. It has grades 6, 7, and 8. The motto of the school is "Passion, Pride, and Productivity" and the other one is "Good is the enemy of Great" Mr. Broom is the vice principal, Dr. Edmondson the old principal moved to Roberto Clemente. Mr. Vazquez became Scarlett's new principal in December 2009 and is expected to stay long time.

In 2008, Mrs. Campbell, a 7th grade science teacher, was nominated and won the award for Educator of the Year by the Michigan Association of Middle School Educators. ^{[citation needed]}

Activities

There are annual talent shows at Scarlett, fun fairs, and other after school activities. Scarlett is very competitive in sports, with the wrestling team dominating the city championships for many years. Boys and Girls Basketball witch the 2009 8th grade boys Basketball team won the city champs for the 6th time, is also very competitive with many former Scarlett students having success at the high school and college level, including the Big 10 schools. Scarlett Middle School has always ranked high in Future City Competitions and has begun to rank in the annual Geo-Bee.

Sports

Scarlett is very competitive in sports, with the wrestling team dominating the city championships for many years. Boys and Girls Basketball which the 2008-09 8th grade boys Basketball team won the city champs for the 4th time, is also very competitive with many former Scarlett students having success at the high school and college level, including the Big 10 schools. The 2009-10 8th grade boys basketball team beat Tappen Middle School Trojans 36-54 to begin the season 1-0. Chris Mosley scored 18 points and went 4/4 behing the three point line, Ej scored 11 points and Kenyante Jackson scored 8 points.

Scarlett Honor Society

Scarlett Honor society or Scarlett Academic Society was created by the current principal of Scarlett Middle School. It serves as an addition to the Honor roll program which happens in many different schools.
