Sean Shaw (born March 17, 1978)[1][2] is an American Democratic politician, lawyer and former insurance consumer advocate who currently represents Florida House of Representatives District 61, which includes portions of Hillsborough County in and around Tampa, including Ybor City and Tampa Heights. Shaw assumed his seat when he defeated businesswoman Dianne Hart and radio host Walter Lee Smith II[3] in the Democratic primary; there was no Republican contender. Prior to his run, he served as Florida's Insurance Consumer Advocate and as an attorney-at-law.[4][5] Shaw is a candidate for the office of Florida Attorney General in the 2018 elections.[6]
