Shabaki is a dialect of the Indo-Iranian language Gorani[2][failed verification] spoken by the Shabak people[3][4][5] in Mosul, Iraq. The number of speakers of Shabaki was estimated in 1989 to be between 10,000 and 20,000.[2][6]

As Shabaki is one of the Zaza–Gorani languages, it is most similar to languages like Gorani (Hewrami) dialects and Zazaki. Because Zaza–Gorani belongs to the Northwestern Iranian branch.
