Shangri-La Air was an airline based in Nepal. It merged with Necon Air in 2001.
History
The airline was established in 1999.[1] In 2001 it was, along with Karnali Air, part of an ‘operational merge’ with Necon Air.[2]
Services
Shangri-La Air operated services to Pokhara, Jomsom, Lukla, Phaplu, Bhairahawa, Bharatpur, Rumjatar and Simara.[1]
Incidents and accidents
- 22 August 2002 - 2002 Shangri-La Air Twin Otter Crash: A Shangri-La Air De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter 300, on a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, crashed into a hill which was under complete cloud cover following 3 days of continuous rain. All 3 crew and 15 passengers were killed.[3]
