The Shenzhen Open (also known as the Shenzhen Gemdale Open due to sponsorship reasons) is a tournament organized for female professional tennis players. It is played on outdoor hard courts, as a warm-up event two weeks prior the Australian Open, in the first week of January. The tournament is making its debut in 2013 in Shenzhen, China.
