In Sinosphere's bureaucracies (imperial China, Korean, Japan, & Vietnam), the retainer to the lord's left almost always ranked higher than the retainer to lord's right (e.g.the Sadaijin - Great Minister to the Left ranked higher than the Udaijin - Great Minister to the Right; according to the Taihou code). Hence the nickname Sakon "nearby on the left" of Kiyooki, Mitsunari's "right-hand man". undo
