Sierra Vista High School is a nine-month public high school located in Spring Valley, Nevada, United States. Sierra Vista is a part of the Clark County School District. The current principal is Dr. John Anzalone.

Extracurricular awards

  • Sierra Vista was approved in February 2016 to be the first public high school in CCSD history to receive solar panels and LED lights. They are currently undergoing construction.
  • Sierra Vista's robotics team has gone to 3 world championships, two in VRC and one in FRC. It has won the energy award, the design award, the community award, and the excellence award. Robotics took a state championship with the VEX program.

Performing arts

There are many performing arts classes to choose from: Theater led by Ms. Whittenberger, Orchestra led by Mr. Paredes, Choir led by Ms. Gallo, and Band led by Ms. Bushee.

Band

The band program is led by Melissa Bushee. The bands offered are: Marching band, Winter Percussion, Winterguard, Jazz band, and Concert Band. The Sierra Vista Wind Ensemble has achieved multiple Superior ratings at various festivals in and around Clark County. The Marching Band currently consists of roughly 125 members, including Drum Majors Nikolas Veradej, and Amelia Prowant and Colorguard Captains Ashton Acopiado and Elizabeth Renee Armiger. The Winter Drumline program, begun in 2015, and is led by Percussion Instructors Dominic Maglalang, Noah Ganon, Michaelangelo Henegan, and Melvin Chicas. The Sierra Vista Winter Colorguard is led by Liana Ham with additional instruction by Brittany Ames and Taylur Haynie.

The school's marching band won the 2007 Bands of America Regional Championships held in Flagstaff, Arizona, the first Nevada high school to win the regional championship.[1]
