Simmons First National Corporation, using the Simmons Bank nameplate, is one of the largest financial companies based in Arkansas. According to the company website, Simmons has "total assets of $7.5 billion" with locations in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee.[1] [2] As of 2016, there are approximately 175 branches and ATM's in 96 cities. Simmons ticker symbol is SFNC and trades NASDAQ.

History

Simmons First Bank was founded by physician Dr. John Franklin SIMMONS in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1903, one of the first in the area to receive a federal bank charter. It was one of the first banks in the state to offer a credit card. [3]

Simmons First has grown organically by opening new branches in existing markets, aquiring select branches from other banks, and through a number of mergers and acquisitions, particularly in Arkansas, including:
