Sirindhorn Museum (aka Sirindhorn Dinosaur Museum)[1] is a geology museum in northeast Thailand.[2]

The museum has the largest collection of dinosaur fossils in Southeast Asia.[citation needed] The museum is named after Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

History

This museum is the first dinosaur museum in Thailand.[citation needed] It was founded in 1995[1] and is located in Sahatsakhan, Kalasin.

Dinosaur fossils were found by Wijitsahatkun in 1994 at Sahatsakhan in the Kalasin province.[citation needed] Phu Khum Khao was the previous name of the site before the current museum was created.[2]

Location

The museum is located at 200, 11 Nonburi, Sahatsakhan, Kalasin province, 46140.[citation needed] The museum is approximately 28km in the north of Kalasin province.[clarification needed] The museum is open Tuesday – Sunday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.[citation needed]

Awards

The museum won the Destinations Awards 2009, by the Bangkok Post, through an online vote.[3] 2008 and 2010, Industry travel of Thailand
