In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the sleek is a magical beast.

Publication history

The sleek appeared for the Spelljammer setting in the Monstrous Compendium Spelljammer Appendix II (1991),[1] and appeared briefly in the Monstrous Manual (1993) under the "mammal" entry.[2]

Description

A sleek resembles an ermine. It seems to have no other desire aside from biting victims and running off. It lurks above doorways, in trees, or wherever, and when victims come, it jumps down, bites them on the arm, and scitters off to hide and do this again. The bite tends to open a major vein, and causes damage thereafter unless the bite is treated with a tourniquet, direct pressure, or a healing spell. Very little else is known about the creature.

Sleeks cannot speak, but are extremely intelligent.

They are most likely neutral or neutral evil in alignment.
