Soldier is an unincorporated community and coal town in Carter County, Kentucky, United States.

Soldier was not a coal town. It had clay mines where material to make fire bricks was mined. In nearby Haldeman and Hayward were brick yards where the clay was baked in kilns to make the bricks.
