Dr. Sone Lal Patel was a leader of social justice and social equality. he was Born on 2nd July 1950 in Bagulihai village of Kannauj district, he was Msc. topper from Pandit Prithi Nath College PPN College kanpur. He had a doctorate in Physics from the Kanpur University.

He started his fight by joining with Chaudhary Charan Singh, stirring in his youth, against social inequality and caste exploitation prevailing in the society. Meanwhile, Kanshi Ram, who was trying to create a social justice movement in North India, met Patel. At the behest of Kanshi Ram, he made his most remarkable contribution in setting up Bahujan Samaj Party in the form of mission. During this period, he was raised as the biggest kurmi leader of Bahujan Samaj Party and the north India. Due to not meeting his resolutions and objectives, he separated from Bahujan Samaj Party. After that, by social pressure and social motivation, on 4 November 1995, he formed a political party, Apna Dal . He died in a road accident in Kanpur in 2009. After the death of Patel, his wife Smt. Krishna Patel became National President of Apna Dal.
