Song Bird is the sophomore studio album of singer Deniece Williams released on October 28, 1977 by Columbia Records. The album rose to No. 23 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart.[5][6]

Overview

Song Bird was produced by Maurice White.[5]

Critical reception

The Daily Express noted that Songbird is "filled with gorgeous songs that showcase her four-octave range to full effect".[2] The New York Times also called the album "most appealing" and "refreshingly varied".[3]

Singles

"Baby, Baby My Love's All for You" rose to nos. 13 & 32 upon the Billboard Hot R&B Songs and UK singles charts respectively.[7][8]

Samples

We Have Love for You was sampled on the track Remember Them Days by Beanie Sigel featuring Eve off Sigel's 2000 album The Truth. The song was also sampled by Curse upon his 2006 track Auf Diesem Weg.[9][10]

Appearances in other media

Williams went on to perform the album cut God Is Amazing at the 1984 Grammy Awards.[11][12]
