South Island Distance Education School (abbreviated as SIDES)[1] is a public, full-service, K-to-12 school, offering distributed learning courses to all students in BC, and is a member of School District 63 Saanich.

Unique Programs

SIDES offers the Renaissance program gifted kids[2] and an advanced placement program[3] As of the summer of 2008, there is no charge for attending summer school online.[4]

Current Projects

SIDES has over 6,000 students, one-quarter take all their classes through the "distributed learning" program. Since September 2007, adult graduates can take any distributed learning course for free.[5]
