Specialist Crime & Operations (SC&O) is one of the main branches of the London Metropolitan Police Service. It was created by the merger of Specialist Crime Directorate and Central Operations[1]

It provides highly visible specialist policing services across the whole of London. Assistant Commissioner Patricia Gallan[2] is currently the head of the directorate. The Directorate is the lead national police agency with regard to specialist crime investigations such as e-crime, sex crimes (paedophile unit) or kidnappings, hostage taking and contract killings.
