History

Structube was founded in 1974 and specialized in tubular retail clothing racks. The name Structube is derived from an abbreviation of the French term "structures tubulaires".[6]

In 1980, Structube first opened its doors as a furniture retailer, on the corner of Sherbrooke and Parc,[7] in downtown Montreal. Structube has continued to expand and diversify its furniture selection over the years.

Originally built in 2006, the current distribution center was expanded from 54,000 sq ft to 122,000 sq ft in 2010. A third expansion took place in 2013. The state of the art fulfillment center now stands at 250 000 sq ft.[8]

September 8, 2012, marked the opening of the first Alberta store location.[9] In 2016, Structube expanded in British Columbia by opening three locations.[10]

In May 2015, the retailer entered the world of omnichannel retail, launching its fully integrated ERP, WMS, POS and ECOM site, all fluidly connected together, making it easy for Canadians to shop online.[11]

In November 2015, the company made its e-commerce site available to customers in the United States.[12]
