Suzanne RD Tata (born Suzanne Brière), also known as Suzanne Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, was a French woman, and the wife of Indian businessman Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata. Suzanne is known for being the first woman in India to drive a car, in 1905.[1][2]
She was born in Paris, France, and was French by birth. She married businessman Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, the chairperson of the Tata Group, and a part of the prominent Tata family. After her marriage, she changed her name to Sooni, and converted to Zoroastrianism from Christianity.[3] The couple had five children Rodabeh, Jehangir, Jimmy, Sylla and Dorab. Her son, Jehangir took over his father's business, while, one of her daughter, Sylla, was married to businessman Dinshaw Maneckji Petit, 3rd Baronet. Suzanne died in London, England, United Kingdom.
