Sweco (originally "Swedish Consultants") is the largest engineering consultancy company in Europe, active in the fields of construction, architecture, and environmental engineering.
As of 2015, Sweco has about 14,500 employees and presence in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Poland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Turkey, and China.
Sweco AB (publ) is listed at the stock exchange OMX Nordiska Börs in Stockholm.
The company has its historical roots in a number of companies, now merged, such as AB Vattenbyggnadsbyrån (VBB), VIAK AB, FFNS AB and Grontmij.

- 1889 Hugo Theorell starts Theorells Ingenjörsbyrå[2]
- 1897 J. Gust. Richert establishes VBB[3]
- 1930 VIAK, Olsson & Jonsson founded[4]
- 1958 FFNS Arkitekter founded[5]
- 1987 Stock market listing of FFNS Arkitekter [6]
- 1988 VBB acquires BECO. VBB group is formed[7]
- 1997 FFNS acquires VBB group and Sweco is formed[8]
- 2003 Sweco acquires Statkraft Grøner and PIC[9]
- 2013 Sweco acquires Vectura Consulting AB.[10]
- 2015 Sweco acquires Grontmij N.V.[11]
