Infinite Crisis will be a sequel to the successful Crisis on Infinite Earths. It is rumored that characters will die and that no one is safe. Most likely, the series will feature an enraged Batman, a new and improved Legion of Doom, and a war between the planets Rann and Thanagar.

The pillars of the DC Universe are already beginning to crumble. Recently, Batman and Wonder Woman gave Superman a scolding about the mindwipe of Doctor Light. The wizard Shazam admitted to being confused for the first time in a thousand years. The Blue Beetle has been murdered by Maxwell Lord. Robin is dealing with his father's murder by Captain Boomerang during the 2004 mini-series Identity Crisis.

The members of the Justice League of America are drifting farther apart, while a covert group of some of the deadliest enemies are becoming closer together. Hal Jordan has been ressurected as Green Lantern.

The seven-issue mini-series will debut in October with popular writer Geoff Johns and veteran artist Phil Jimenez. In addition, there will be four mini-series leading up to this event: The Ran/Thanagar War (Written by Dave Gibbons with art by Ivan Reis), The OMAC Project (Written by Greg Rucka with art by Jesus Saiz), Villains United! (Written by Gail Simone with art by Dale Eaglesham)and Day of Vengeance (Written by Bill Willingham with art by Justiniano. All four mini-series will run for six issues each. The OMAC Project and Day of Vengeance will begin in April while Villains United! and The Rann/Thanagar War will start in May.
