Tahir Iqbal (born 15 May 1951, Chakwal, Pakistan) is a retired Pakistani Army major and politician.

Political career

In 2002, Iqbal became a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan[1] from NA-60 Chakwal on the ticket of PML (Q).[2] He became the State Minister for Environment[3] and later on the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Northern Areas[4] in the cabinet of Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali.[5]

He did not participate in the 2008 general elections. He joined PML (N) after meeting with party chief Mian Nawaz Sharif on 24 November 2011.[6]

In the 2013 general election, he was reelected to the National Assembly of Pakistan.[7]
