That was not "near total" destruction. A large portion of the houses were only moderately damaged. It's not like the neighborhood was rebuilt completely from scratch. Sowelilitokiemu 15:49, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion proposal

[edit]

Although this tornado was significant, i think an entire article for some random F4 in Alabama is highly unnecessary. This is also a classic "In my backyard" situation, as an old version of the creator of this article's user page says that he is an engineer working near Huntsville, which sums it up pretty quickly. Oppose deletion per the face that it was an intense and very notable tornado traversing a highly populated area. Who wrote the article is irrelevant and if you are basing it off that you are very much in the wrong. United States Man (talk) 18:18, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose if expanded I think the article could use more information. In this way, a deletion of it is not needed. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 19:20, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose deletion, references are available online to support the article if added. No reason to waste good content. Penitentes (talk) 14:19, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
New wrinkle: the entirety of the article is copied from the National Weather Service narrative, a fact which was originally disclosed in the article but disappeared with time. I don't know how this sort of thing is usually handled, so for now I have placed the appropriate {{NWS}} public domain attribution template in the references section and attached a corresponding inline citation to each paragraph. Penitentes (talk) 16:32, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It needs to be rewritten and reworded anyway, so that fact just pushes it along. United States Man (talk) 16:43, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. I'll try and make that a small project this month. Penitentes (talk) 16:47, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
