- The Chilean newspaper El Mercurio states "Es un secreto a voces y sólo falta el anuncio oficial: el Dakar 2010 se realizaría nuevamente en Sudamérica, entre Chile y Argentina. De hecho, ayer la gente de ASO se reunió con el director del IND, Jaime Pizarro, para ir afinando detalles." which means "the Dakar 2010 will be made in South America again, between Chile and Argentina, only the official announcement is missing". -- ReyBrujo (talk) 03:10, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
