Dissolution honours vs. working peers/privy councillors
[edit]The London Gazette publication of this dissolution honours list displays only Dissolution list peers and knighthoods, while the Downing Street announcement mix it together with a working peers list and privy council appointments. Should this article only show the gazette list ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.234.163.130 (talk) 04:57, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- I absolutely agree, this page should only show the dissolution list of peers, and the honours. Peers are created all the time for various reasons, and not all of them are included on a list on wikipedia, and moreover other lists of working peers announced by No10 at various times are not present here on wikipedia. It is also a weird conundrum that Downing St advertised these "working peers" in a single list but then did not announce them in one package in the Gazette; they appear through different London and Edinburgh Gazette issues/supplements. So I suggest we regularize this list to be more like other dissolution honours lists. Poojean (talk) 20:25, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- On close inspection it also appears that the Privy Council appointments are not honours from the dissolution, but merely appointments due to the new government of the time. In support of that, these appointments do not appear in the Gazette (as can sometimes happen). So I think the government press release has just tacked these on the end. In my opinion they should also be removed. Poojean (talk) 20:53, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
